14. Smile   If it hadn't been for you I would be dead today.

 You might not even realize that you saved my miserable life, you might not even care.

 But that smile you gave me was hopeful, sweet, caring.

 The conversation we had was short, but my eyes were on your smile.

 Thank you for that smile.

 If you had seen the workings of my mind, maybe you would understand.

 You see today, I was depressed, suicidal even.

 But that smile gave me hope.

 I felt wanted.

 And then I realized life was worth living.

 That one day, I could be something.

92. All That I Have   Dear Jame,

 You have to know, your father has passed.

 I know this probably comes to no shock to you, as he was quite ill, and you may feel no remorse. I know how much pain he caused you. Please, I implore you, come to his funeral. If not for him, then for me. I haven't seen you in years, and I miss you.

 Why won't you come back home? The one thing holding you back is gone.

 I know that he was awful to you. I know he did some terrible things to you. And I also know that I was a horrible person for being too scared to stop him. I'm sorry, and one day I hope you will forgive me.

65. Horror   Everyone believed Morris Bottomley was evil, and if you heard the stories, you would believe it too. It was not as if people had just been cruel, Morris spread the stories himself. The one he used to tell the most was the deer story.

 One night he was driving on a dark road. The area was heavily forested and experiencing renovations to build new homes. Animals were fleeing their homes right and left and many people had spotted deer and bears in the area and warned others to make sure they didn't hit the terrorized animals.

 Halfway down the road, Morris saw a young doe darting out in the path. The deer was frozen in the face of his head
77. Test   She can hear the scratch of pencils, the scratch of heads, and the scratch pens on desks. She can hear them, but she isn't thinking about the test today. Last night was hell.

 Her eyes are tired and one is bruised, her lip is puffy and her face still feels like it's streaked with tears. She had been beaten again, the worst she'd ever had. She had been caught smoking on the back porch again, and her father found it necessary to give her a wallop. The bastard had beaten her over the head with his fists and scattered wine bottles.

If you haven't already guessed, I'm a nerd...
I love this book! These are my interpretations of the characters in George Orwell's "1984".
(And yes, I realize that Goldstein is not actually a sheep... It was just more fun that way)

My favorite character is Syme... Doubleplusgood!

I did not write "1984"... but you already knew that.
